Les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s comme des options potentiellement plus respectueuses de l&rsquo;environnement, mais sont-ils vraiment assez verts pour devenir nos v\u00e9hicules du futur ?<\/span><\/p><p><b style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-align: justify; margin-top: 5pt; margin-bottom: 5pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">En France, des objectifs ambitieux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fix\u00e9s pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer la transition vers des v\u00e9hicules plus respectueux de l&rsquo;environnement. Le gouvernement fran\u00e7ais a pris l&rsquo;engagement de mettre fin \u00e0 la vente de voitures thermiques neuves d&rsquo;ici 2035, texte adopt\u00e9 \u00e9galement par l\u2019Union Europ\u00e9enne. De plus, la France vise la neutralit\u00e9 carbone en 2050. La transition vers des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques joue un r\u00f4le essentiel dans la r\u00e9alisation de ces objectifs. En \u00e9liminant progressivement les voitures thermiques de la circulation, la France esp\u00e8re r\u00e9duire consid\u00e9rablement les \u00e9missions de CO2 du secteur des transports, qui constitue l&rsquo;une des principales sources de pollution atmosph\u00e9rique \u00e0 hauteur d\u2019environ 30% des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre (GES). Les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques offrent une alternative prometteuse, car ils n\u2019\u00e9mettent pas de CO2 pendant leur utilisation, \u00e0 condition que l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 utilis\u00e9e pour les recharger soit issue de sources d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie renouvelable.<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-align: justify; margin-top: 5pt; margin-bottom: 5pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Cependant, la transition vers les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques apporte son lot de d\u00e9fis \u00e0 relever. Des questions persistent quant \u00e0 l&rsquo;approvisionnement en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 propre, \u00e0 la gestion des batteries, \u00e0 l&rsquo;infrastructure de recharge et \u00e0 l&rsquo;impact environnemental de la fabrication des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques. Il est essentiel de prendre en compte ces aspects dans l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation globale de la durabilit\u00e9 des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques.<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-align: justify; margin-top: 5pt; margin-bottom: 5pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">En effet, en se fiant aux \u00e9tudes r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sur la France comparant les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques \u00e0 leurs pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseurs thermiques \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019Analyses de Cycle de Vie (ACV), on constate une division par 2 \u00e0 5 de l\u2019impact carbone en passant d\u2019une voiture thermique \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectrique (<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #1155cc; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: underline; -webkit-text-decoration-skip: none; text-decoration-skip-ink: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Figure 1<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">). De nombreux param\u00e8tres justifient les \u00e9carts entre les \u00e9tudes d\u2019analyse de cycle de vie. Ils influencent le niveau d\u2019\u00e9missions des v\u00e9hicules en absolu, et donc le diff\u00e9rentiel entre thermique et \u00e9lectrique (en %).Les plus significatifs sont le mix \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 l\u2019usage des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques, le kilom\u00e9trage total des v\u00e9hicules sur leur dur\u00e9e de vie, de nombreux \u00e9l\u00e9ments li\u00e9s aux batteries (leur capacit\u00e9, les \u00e9missions li\u00e9es \u00e0 leur production, leur \u00e9ventuelle seconde vie), leur taille, leur consommation d\u2019\u00e9nergie et l\u2019\u00e9ventuelle prise en compte des \u00e9missions li\u00e9es aux infrastructures.<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-align: justify; margin-top: 5pt; margin-bottom: 5pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Pour un m\u00eame param\u00e8tre, plusieurs hypoth\u00e8ses peuvent \u00eatre pertinentes : il faut donc comparer l\u2019ordre de grandeur de leur importance. Aussi la voiture \u00e9lectrique reste souvent trop \u00e9mettrice, d\u2019autant plus pour les v\u00e9hicules les plus lourds. Et gaspiller des ressources en tension (en particulier les m\u00e9taux rares des batteries, principalement du lithium et du nickel) peut limiter l\u2019\u00e9lectrification de v\u00e9hicules plus nombreux et plus vertueux. Les SUV \u00e9lectriques, moins a\u00e9rodynamiques et souvent plus lourds, ne r\u00e9pondent pas \u00e0 cette double exigence. Il est donc n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019associer l\u2019\u00e9lectrification avec une forte transformation de nos mobilit\u00e9s vers davantage de sobri\u00e9t\u00e9.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-align: justify; margin-top: 5pt; margin-bottom: 5pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">La voiture \u00e9lectrique ne r\u00e9duit qu\u2019une partie des probl\u00e8mes li\u00e9s \u00e0 la voiture, et sans les r\u00e9soudre compl\u00e8tement. Il faudra donc aussi r\u00e9duire la place de la voiture dans la mobilit\u00e9, pour r\u00e9pondre simultan\u00e9ment aux diff\u00e9rents enjeux de transition. Quels sont les modes de transport individuels ou collectifs qui doivent se d\u00e9ployer davantage pour remplacer les v\u00e9hicules individuels classiques ?\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-align: justify; margin-top: 5pt; margin-bottom: 5pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Les efforts actuels pour am\u00e9liorer l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique des v\u00e9hicules automobiles et diminuer leur masse restent tr\u00e8s insuffisants au regard des enjeux \u00e0 venir. Pour parvenir \u00e0 des r\u00e9sultats significatifs, il faudra imaginer des v\u00e9hicules beaucoup moins lourds et moins rapides. Il existe de nombreux v\u00e9hicules, entre le v\u00e9lo classique et la voiture classique (quelle que soit sa motorisation), beaucoup moins lourds que les voitures et capables d\u2019effectuer la plupart des trajets quotidiens, en s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et avec un confort acceptable.
